bio: leiya (b.1995, Yokohama, Japan)
about me: a social practice artist exploring contemporary consciousness at the intersection of technology, embodiment, and alternative ways of knowing. i create containers for collective remembering, sustained questioning, integration, weaving together body and mind, personal and political, human and earth.
methodology: performance, writing, conversation, and participatory installations that gradually and subtly coax both myself and the viewer-participant to immerse themselves in the act of knowing & remembering.
interests: engaging with and living inside media, technology, and sociopolitical structures, then reporting back the embodied experience; blurred boundaries between digital and physical, artificial and natural, individual and collective consciousness; autoethnography; knowledge accessibility and community theory-building; everyday life as a site for discovery
